The Javea Branch was formed in 1989
The first person to take the Chair was Adelaide Cartwright. Officers on the committee serve for two years before stepping down or moving to another post.Francis Essex was Chairman from 1991 - 93 Joan Blakeman served from 1993 - 95 Dennis Barratt was elected in January 1995 when fourteen members attended the AGM and dined at El Elefante.
Michael Griffin served from 1997- 99. Audrey Crawford was in the Chair from 1999 - 2001 David Decker, who had held the office of Vice-chairman since 1999, was elected Chairman in January 2001.
Jenny Decker became Chairman in February 2003
John G. Deacon became Chairman in February 2004
The Association Newsletter was superceded in October 1995 by CAVA a small format magazine. Free to members, it became a vehicle for announcing and reporting on events.

SOCIAL EVENTS ... Members meet at least once every six weeks at social functions designed to keep people in touch with each other and to raise money for the Central Fund. The pictures in the album pages, which include many guests, are only a few of those taken since 1995.
Not all guests are in sympathy with our political views, but those who are have often decided to join the Association.
